Darwin Today
Darwin is a cosmopolitan, tropical city situated in Australia's north at about twelve and a half degrees latitude. It is the country's most northerly city and the capital of the Northern Territory. It is closer to Bali, Indonesia than it is to Adelaide. As close to Singapore as it is to Sydney. It is the only capital in Australia to have been bombed by the Japanese in World War 2. Today, it is a modern city with a diverse population of around 80,000 people.
